Research on tracing the fate of triclosan in the environment. We focus on how triclosan in water can contaminate soil and crops and the effect of triclosan on microbes.
Why TCS?
Triclosan is a contaminant of emerging concern that has been found in high concentrations in breast milk and urine samples. This broad spectrum antimicrobial affects not only our freshwater ecosystems, but ourselves, and residential microbial species found in native soil. Microbial species have started to develop resistance to this antimicrobial and has become of concern.
